Cosmic Storm
Cosmic Storm did not evolve it just happened one night when members of various bands got together for a one off performance that left a lasting legacy and is still rocking.
The band launched its debut album “Nobody’s Fool” at the Adelaide Festival Centre and to an extent also launched the band. They have open for International acts such as Deep Purple, Status Quo and Paul Stanley at Adelaides iconic Thebarton Theatre as well as supporting some great Aussie music legends.
Cosmic Storm created interest on the US music market with their album “Nobody’s Fool”. The band had concerns that the variety of material on the album may have worked against them in the US, but in actual fact it became an asset. It was the diversity on the album that stood out above other choices. “Several years ago this may have been uncool, but now it’s a great marketing point for Radio in the US” the band was told.
Whilst in the early stages of recording the first album a chance meeting with American guitar legend Derek Trucks and his keyboard player Kofi Burbridge resulted in Kofi performing on two tracks on the album- "a most rewarding experience".
The band describes the music as essentially punchy roots rock. A blues heritage is also evident on their recordings. The live set music crosses many boundaries for which they make no apology. Cosmic Storm have been busy writing material for their second album. The new material displays an “earthy” feel without losing the punchy groove that the band enjoys in their music. Although live performances are limited due to members committments with other bands their shows are well worth the musical journey.
